Final Table At Black Woods

Chris "Jesus" Ferguson was one of the special guests in attendance during a private event this week promoting the release of the new World Series Of Poker video game from Activision. 5th Street Poker Parties was elected to run the live poker segments of the event where attendees had the opportunity to test their skills against "Jesus" in a casual tournament-type atmosphere.

As the 2000 World Series of Poker Main Event Champion, Ferguson is one of the most recognizable faces in poker with his long hair, beard, and black hat.  Other special guests included extreme sports king Tony Hawk and the NYPD Blue executive producer Bill Clark who were on hand to discuss the releases of Tony Hawk’s American Wasteland and TRUE CRIME - New York City.

Grand Rios & Black Woods Poker Series Kick Off

The Grand Rios Indoor Water Park & Hotel in Brooklyn Park and Black Woods Banquet & Conference Center started their poker leagues recently. Each poker series will culminate in a Tournament of Champions where qualifying participants have the opportunity to compete for a grand prize sponsored by the host establishment.

Nick Bistodeau outlasted nearly 40 participants in the first event in the Grand Rios Poker Series.  Bistodeau was able to outlast Mark Fleming on the final hand when Fleming went all in with pocket 3's and Bistodeau called with pocket 6's and caught a third 6 on the turn. For his efforts, Bistodeau won $75 cash, a trophy, and a 5th Street Poker Parties championship t-shirt.

Austin Miller was the first champion in the Black Woods Poker Series, and David Fisher picked up the trophy after the second event at the Grand Rios.  Bistodeau, Miller, and Fischer all earned guaranteed seats in the Tournament of Champions of their respective poker series.

The Black Woods Poker Series will continue every Wednesday night through October.  Join 5th Street Poker Parties every Thursday night for the Grand Rios Poker Series.
